Scot McKay
Scot McKay is too cool and normal to call himself a PUA. In fact, he would scoff at the idea. It’s beneath him. You know what? He’s right.
I have never formally “met” Scot McKay, but he’s become one of my better friends in this community as we share nearly an identical philosophy.
We are also the only 2 guys that I’m aware of that are in long-term relationships.
He’s married, and I live with my girlfriend.
That alone makes him more qualified than most other coaches to help guys. I would be very suspicious of a dating coach who is single, frankly.
It’s one thing to be working on your challenges in dating and then helping other guys, but it’s quite another thing to be PAST those challenges and looking back in a long-term relationship.
I know that Scot met his wife online, and that they have been together ever since.
He (and Emily) run X and Y Communications out of San Antonio, TX.
Scot is a very solid guy. He is a classic man’s man. He is true to his word. He confronts things head-on. He is not afraid of confrontation.
My friend Barry Kirkey had a problem with Scot recently (not sure what or why), and said something derogatory about Scot’s wife on his radio show.
Scot emails Barry a short and sweet note:
“Call Me.” And then attaches his number. Barry, a guy also unafraid of confrontation, called Scot. Scot answered the phone and told Barry that he didn’t appreciate him talking badly about his wife on the show (since Barry has never even met Emily). Barry, a cool guy himself, agreed that that wasn’t the best thing he’s ever done. Then, they had a nice conversation and are now “friends”.
That’s how guys should do things. Directly. Head-on. Face challenges, and then move on.
I’ve known Scot, spoken with him multiple times, recorded interviews with him, and even done a few joint ventures with him.
He’s a guy of high integrity and class. And, someone that you should pay attention to.
His work includes “The Leading Man” program, and his very interesting “Virtuosity” program where he has multiple interviews with leading figures in the dating scene.
